3D Elevation Map

Every country, in interactive 3D elevation.

Every country has a different shape of ground, and this page maps 194 of them in true 3D — each cut from the same Copernicus GLO-30 satellite model to its own borders, so Nepal’s Himalayan wall and the Dutch polders read on one scale.

Open any one and it renders as real terrain you can grab, tilt and spin, with the figures computed straight from the model — highest and lowest points, mean and median elevation. A colour map tells you a country has mountains; the 3D model shows how high they stand.

Three countries, three kinds of terrain

Nepal’s Himalaya, the Andes running the length of Chile, and Norway’s glacier-carved fjord coast. Each map below is live — scroll to it and it loads in 3D; drag to spin it, and open the full page for its elevation profile.
